People always say.... (actually i say one) to connect better, you have to know the language. To know the language, you have to know the people. Now I am talking nonsense.

(serious face) The reason that I brought the matter up is I understand more of the working world while at I am here (cannot tell where I am, later I will be bombarded with statements and question. haha) working part time.

I have unearth a few secrets of job interview here. I guess, experience is important huh... During an interview or job hunting, the description of the jobs are usually pleasant to to read or hear. Here are a few examples;

Performance based;
- you see.. when you are at a job with salary that are perfomance based, you are expected to work more. but dont get your hope really high. You may work like an elephant with the pay of a single peanut, not even peanuts. Dont put on hope to get a really high salary or bonuses if you are barely good at the job you are going to be doing. If you are good, of course your pay wil be good lah.

Able to work independently
- This one can be a little bit depressing. It actually means that you are going to work alone, on your own. If interaction are done with someone over the phone, such as customer, most of the time, you are lucky. But if you are put in a box and face a computer and do just that only, you are going to be depressed with the lack of human contact.

Able to work with minimal supervision
- this means that your boss will not be around all the time, you are expected to finish your work and have it ready on their table on time. This can also means that they are going to "abandon" you with less interaction and expect you to be able work independently. (refer to able to work independently)

Proffesional surroundings and environment
- This one I have yet to unearth the whole thing, but I have grasp the theory and concept. This can lead us to think that everyone in the premise or working area are serious and work oriented, not a laidback, relax type of surrounding. It may means that everyone is stressed all the time. OR, Everyone in the working area is detached from everyone, well maybe not everyone, but maybe every department is detached. Dont be surprise if someone died (touch wood!!!!) passed out in other department and you missed the memo. This can also means that you are expected to be able to work independently and minimal supervision.

Able to work in team
- Now, be careful with this one. It means a lot, it can mean that if you are working on shifts, someone (customer) will just blame

Why?

I am not being sarcastic and cynical about this matter, why? because i finally understand the stress of being one. Most of the time, when we call the hotline of certain organization, we may throw our never ending tantrum to them and yet, they have to treat us oh-so-nicely because they have a standard to comply to and they may get fired by it.

you see, this operator sometimes is just a mere operator, who is actually 100 miles away from the organization, their knowledge about the organization is theoritical, not through practical. Take macdee for instance, their hotline operating station is miles away from the restaurant itself. you may say that is the power of the technology nowadays, but you see, this operators are not macdee-ian, they are not at the restaurant itself. So if you are not getting your order ready by the minute, you have to understand that the operators are not the ones to blame.

which bring me to the next point, you see. most organization have a lot of operators in one shift, but maybe not so many during midnight shift, which i think i will dread the most, its quiet and you may get heart attack if someone suddenly appears in front of you.. for small organization, they cant afford to have more than 1 operator operating in 1 shift, especially if the workload is not so much. You see, the lonely operator, working at their shift with no one to talk to, except for maybe their customers. what if they "kap si" or "kap liu"? who is there to standby for them? no one.. so kesian..

And i dont understand why people look down on operators, i really dont get it. nowadays, many youngsters study and work at the same time. the odd hours that some restaurant, hotline operating stations or toll stations caters the student schooling hours. But some people just think that this operators are just some idiots that dont know anything. Maybe in this people's mind, its better to starve to death rather than working for a honestly earned cold hard cash.. Some people are just too shallow to judge so quickly.

but the thing i respect the most is, their patience in handling customers. Some people just think that if they are paying a little bit extra, they can own you. its true that you pay for the operators salary, but that doesnt mean that you can mistreat them...


sigh... after ranting for 3 paragraph... I am wondering whether i should post it up..


maybe i should, just so that people can treat operators (and youngsters who work) better.

Who's going to be eliminated this week?

There has been rumors going around about this woman, a singer/songwriter whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. What is the rumor that is still being circulated for more than 6 months? It is whether Lady Gaga is a man or a woman or both.

There is a video that actually suggest that Lady Gaga maybe an hermaphrodite but the grainy video raised more doubts than a confirmation. Oh great, the video is removed. I should dig up some other video now.



Found it. Haha.. she clearly have something dangling there. How I love this controversial clip that shot her into instantaneous fame. Do you realise that she actually fix the hanging dangling thing before getting off the scooter. I think she is scared that the fake dick will fall off. That's even worst than having a rumor spread about having dick.


There is a picture which suggest the existance of a penis (or more popularly known to teenagers as dick) during one of her perfomance.

What can you see there? Okay, it does suggest a penis. But a sanitary pad can also do that magic of creating a fake dick.

Fine, you are not convinced. Then you will go on and search other websites and giving more traffic. Then, the album sales will shot up because people are buying it just so that they can be popular too if they somehow catch a glimpse of the mannish voice. Frantically searching on youtube for Lady Gaga's video to verify if she actually has a dick.

One thing that caught my attention is, the starts of this rumor is around August, last year. Almost the same time when her latest album is being released. Could this be a marketing strategy? Just like the rumor that Megan Fox is a transgendered woman weeks before the launching of Transformer II: Revenge of the Fallen.

Ciara came out from the closet and gossips about she is a transsexual flooded the net. But P Diddy,President and CEO of Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment had different opinion on it though, "Tonight it's homosexuality, next its tranvestites, tomorrow it's something else," (source, allhiphop.com)

Jamie Lee Curtis didnt escape this hard gossips too. In fact she faced it for 20 years, about her being born with a penis (dick). Isnt that harsh? Surprisingly, if you google their name then hermaphrodite, you will come across websites that is by urbanlegend. See, it is all just rumors.
